I am a self-taught artist whose love of art began as a child, drawing cartoon images from cereal boxes. Even then, I was fascinated by color—the bright, bold colors captured my imagination and became something I would carry with me throughout my life.

For many years, my artistic side remained quiet until the birth of my daughter rekindled it. When she was four years old, I built a toy box for her and painted it with a colorful juggling, clown-faced court jester. More than twenty-five years later, she still remembers that toy box. That simple project helped awaken something in me that had never really disappeared.

As I raised my family and worked full-time as a manager at AT&T, painting gradually became an increasingly important part of my life. My family often became the inspiration. When my daughter was afraid of owls, I painted one to help her see their beauty. When my son became fascinated with Chicago, I created my own dramatic interpretation of the Chicago Fire. Years later, my granddaughter Kamari inspired a painting celebrating her love of dance.

My work is driven by color, emotion, nature, and the human experience. I have a particular love for animals, but my paintings also explore places, heritage, relationships, struggle, and moments from everyday life. Whether the subject is joyful or difficult, I often use vivid color to search for beauty, dignity, and meaning within the story.

Every painting I create represents a part of my journey. My hope is that when someone views my work, they see more than an image—they feel the story, the emotion, and the color that inspired me to put brush to canvas.
