Painting of two women with African features and dark skin silhouette, wearing colorful jewelry and clothing, at sunset with a vibrant orange sky and distant mountains.

Standing against the warmth of an African sunset, two women move forward together, wrapped in brilliant color and traditional adornment. Their quiet expressions and graceful presence reflect strength, dignity, and a deep connection to heritage.

In African Queens, I wanted the vivid colors of their clothing to contrast boldly against the landscape while honoring the beauty, culture, and spirit of Africa. The two figures stand together yet each possesses her own presence—a celebration of heritage, resilience, and the enduring strength passed from one generation to the next.

Love’s Truth

Acrylic on Canvas

20" H × 18" W

Completed: 2022
Original: Sold
Prints: Available

The warmth of the setting sun surrounds two figures in a quiet moment of reflection. Their silhouettes and traditional clothing create a powerful contrast against the glowing oranges and yellows of the African landscape.

In Love’s Truth, I was inspired by the African proverb, “Love truth even if it hurts you, and hate lies even if they help you.” The painting reflects the courage it takes to accept truth, even when that truth may be difficult. For me, the message is timeless: honesty may sometimes bring discomfort, but truth ultimately carries greater strength than a comforting lie.

Ole Man Wisdom

Acrylic on Canvas

24" H × 36" W

Completed: 2021

Set against a sweeping African landscape, an elder stands with quiet strength and dignity. His weathered expression, walking staff, and vibrant clothing suggest a life shaped by experience, tradition, and a deep connection to the land.

In Ole Man Wisdom, I wanted to capture the beauty of Africa through its people, nature, and color. The elder represents the knowledge and perspective that come with a lifetime of experience—a reminder that wisdom is something earned over time and passed from one generation to the next.

My Ancestors’ Journey

Acrylic on Canvas

18" H × 24" W

Completed: 2026

Original: Available

Price: $2400

The calm blue sea and moonlit sky create a striking contrast to the difficult history represented below. A line of children follows closely behind one another along the shoreline, their journey suggesting both innocence and the painful loss of freedom experienced by generations before them.

In My Ancestors’ Journey, I wanted to reflect on the forced marches endured by Africans who were captured, bound together, and taken from their homes during the transatlantic slave trade. Inspired by the history of Ghana and the journeys that led countless people toward the coast into slavery.

The painting asks the viewer to educate the children to remember those who walked before us—their suffering and courage.

The Boy King

Inspired by my college fraternity and the values of brotherhood, leadership, and achievement, The Boy King presents a young figure with dignity, confidence, and a strong sense of purpose. His regal presence symbolizes the potential within every young Black boy to recognize his heritage, embrace his inner strength, and see himself as someone destined to lead. The painting celebrates cultural pride while honoring the promise and greatness of future generations.
