A quiet walk becomes an intimate moment of connection between two people. Surrounded by the beauty of the park, the couple shares a simple experience that speaks to companionship, affection, and the comfort of being together.
In A Walk in the Park, I wanted to portray an African American love story through my own artistic perspective. I was drawn to the simplicity of two people walking together and the emotion that can exist in an ordinary moment. Through color, setting, and the closeness of the figures, I wanted to celebrate love not as something dramatic, but as something found in companionship, shared experiences, and simply walking through life together.

An older man walks alone through the colorful streets of the city, carrying his belongings in his hand while life continues around him. The vivid buildings, glowing streetlights, and movement of the sidewalk create a striking contrast with the quiet isolation of the figure.
In Homeless, I wanted to portray something I witnessed during my daily commute through downtown Atlanta—the reality of homelessness and how easily people can become part of the scenery we pass every day. Although the subject is difficult, I chose to surround him with vivid color because I wanted to find beauty even within a dark and painful reality.
For me, this painting is a reminder that behind the word “homeless” is a person—a human life with dignity, history, and a story we may never know.
The Fellas

Caught in the middle of a violent sea, one man struggles in the water as seven men reach down from the safety of their boat. Against the crashing waves and threatening sky, their outstretched arms become a symbol of brotherhood, compassion, and the willingness to help one another through life's storms.
The Fellas began with a request from a very close friend of mine. He asked if I could create my own version inspired by Gilbert Young's well-known painting He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, which portrays one man extending his hand to help another.
I admired the meaning behind Young's beautiful work, but I didn't want to duplicate his painting. Instead, I wanted to take that message of brotherhood and express it through something personal from my own life. A title dedication to Mr. Young is written on the side of the boat in the painting.
The eight men in this painting represent my close personal friends. Together, we call ourselves “The Fellas.” I imagined us in that boat, each man reaching down to help a brother who had fallen into the turbulent water.
For me, The Fellas represents what friendship and brotherhood should mean. When one of us struggles, the others reach back. When one of us falls, there are hands ready to help him rise. No matter how difficult the storm becomes, none of us has to face it alone.

A pianist sits at the keyboard while a dancer moves freely to the music, bringing together two forms of artistic expression in a single moment. The bold colors and flowing movement create a sense of rhythm, energy, and joy as the music seems to come alive through the dancer.
In Music in Motion, I wanted to capture the connection between music and movement—how one person can create a sound that inspires another person to express that sound through dance.
To me, the pianist and dancer represent the way different forms of art can come together, each adding something to the other. The music creates the movement, the movement gives life to the music, and together they become one shared human experience.

My grand daughter is currently taking ballet lessons and this is one of the first positions she will learn.
En Pointe honors one of ballet’s most recognizable and demanding expressions of grace.
